Central Indiana
The Greenwood Campus is a 80,000 square foot facility that was built new in 2010. The building is composed of office space, six classrooms, large break/vending room, a computer lab, and 60,000 square feet of training floor. There is 20,000 square feet of office and classroom space including a computer lab with 25 computers and/or laptops to assist students in getting their free Associates degree from Ivy Tech.
All of the additional Ivy Tech classes needed to get that degree are held right here on the campus grounds, Ivy Tech instructors come here to teach their class to our students. The 40,000 square feet of high bay shop space is used for building concrete form projects, large gang forms, metal stud/drywall projects, commercial door and hardware projects, as well as an ICRA mockup used to teach construction best practices for occupied healthcare facilities. Additionally, there is another 20,000 square feet of finish shop area for floorcovering, cabinetmaking, interior trim, countertops and mockups for soffits and acoustical ceilings.
The millwrights have 7500 dedicated square feet of training area that includes a 10-ton bridge crane and 16 welding booths to train and certify our members. Our members can certify in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW or FCAW in our AWS Accredited Testing Facility. This area also includes a 1500 KW Steam Turbine that is used to familiarize our members with its workings prior to the steam and gas turbine qualification training at our International Training Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Behind this area we have 15,000 square feet of paved area for setting up a mobile hydraulic telescoping boom crane used for training and testing candidates our Third Party Accredited CRS (Certified Rigger And Signaler) program.
