Floor covering professionals install a wide variety of flooring materials. They install carpet, vinyl tile, sheet goods, ceramics, and any other type of flooring. They use adhesives, weld plastics and ensure work is done to exacting standards. Work is often done based on specifications of architects, facility managers, or interior designers. To be effective, a floor coverer must be good at understanding pattern layouts before the actual installation begins. A floor coverer may be asked to work on new or renovation projects for commercial, residential, or institutional structures. A good floor coverer is neat, clean and careful not to damage any surrounding furnishings.
