The Newburgh Campus is a 57,760 square feet facility formerly housing two indoor soccer fields. The building is composed of four classrooms, one general purpose classroom/computer lab, and a 41,080 square foot training floor. The north end of training floor houses an area for the carpenters to build concrete form projects, metal stud/drywall projects, mockups for soffits and acoustical ceilings, as well as commercial door and hardware projects. Additionally, there is an area for cabinetmaking, interior trim, and countertops.
The center of the shop houses our ICRA mockup used to teach construction practices for occupied healthcare facilities. Also, there is an open area for the building of scaffolding as well as the use of a mobile hydraulic crane for our nationally recognized rigging certification. Behind that there are 12 welding booths housing SMAW, MIG and TIG welders.
The south end of the training floor is where the millwrights disassemble and reassemble a 750 KW/938 KVA steam-fired turbine and generator. Recently added head-steel will house a power and free rail conveyor system, a roller conveyor with lift table and an automotive welding robot cell. Also in the millwright shop is an area dedicated to fabrication.
