When one of the most iconic and imaginative public parks in Northwest Indiana needed help to update their grounds, they contacted the IKORCC Merrillville Campus and the apprentices jumped at the chance to help. In two consecutive days apprentice classes D and L partnered with local volunteers to help install new foundations and assemble new equipment for the park. The website fortlaplayporte.com details the interesting and innovative design they helped create. Great work to the apprentices and thanks to Instructors Rob Stewart and Jeff Jovanovich for providing the leadership and adapting the curriculum to match the project.
